Jack Vanderkooy, President & CEO, gave a brief history of how the CBC (Toronto) Credit Union started on July 25th, 1952 when they were officially incorporated to serve employees of CBC.

In 2004, CBC Toronto Credit Union merged with Virtual One Credit Union, retaining its location in the CBC building. Virtual One Credit Union has its history going back to 1946 when it was the Camera Heights Credit Union serving employees of Kodak in the West end of Toronto. In 2002, with a vision to expand beyond Kodak employees, the credit union expanded its charter and was renamed Virtual One Credit Union.

On January 1, 2011, Virtual One and DUCA merged to become the NEW DUCA, a 16 branch, 43,000 member credit union with assets of $1.175 billion. This merger enables members of the combined credit union to benefit from the great service and products which DUCA offers - high service without the charges, competitive interest rates and profit sharing. DUCA is rooted in the tradition of creating great value for its members in a cooperative spirit of people helping people.
